Pangbourne College

The Falklands Islands Memorial Chapel

Pangbourne College is an independent school for boys and girls aged 11-18 years, and was founded in 1917. The school is set in 230 acres of countryside designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pangbourne College has an excellent record of academic success and a strong and successful tradition in sport, music, drama, design and art. It is one of the world’s most successful rowing schools.

The Society's concerts and rehearsals are held in The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel in the grounds of the College. The Chapel was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in March 2000 and is dedicated to the memory of those who died in the Falklands war in 1982. The College uses it regularly for services, and its award-winning design and seating for up to 580 people make it a popular concert venue.

The impressive stained glass window is the building's focal point. The organ is a state-of-the-art digital instrument made by Cathedral Organs, and the Chapel also houses the College's Steinway concert grand piano.

More details of the Memorial Chapel can be found on the Chapel's website.

Here is a useful map from that website showing the location of Pangbourne College. The Chapel's website contains driving directions. The postcode of the College is RG8 8LA, and here is a link to Google Maps.
